The company was a social enterprise providing transport and related training services. The operations included commercial bus services and the provision of transport for community, and other socially disadvantaged, groups. The annual turnover was £25m.

The business was prepared for an audit that took place within four weeks of the assignment commencing. All major issues were identified and dealt with prior to the audit.

Formal credit control procedures were introduced including a customer chase cycle. The debtor ageing profile improved and the bad debt provision was reduced.

The budget process was completed including the completion of balance sheet and cash flow projections. The monthly reporting timetable  was significantly reduced. Profit forecasting was introduced and cash forecasting procedures were improved.
