What Are Interim Managers?

Interim Managers are highly experienced business people who can step into a business, at short notice, on an interim basis to deal with change, opportunity and uncertainty.

They are mature, confident individuals who are likely to have extensive Board or Senior Management experience in industry, commerce or government. They are generally over qualified for the issue at hand in order to be able to “hit the ground running” and rapidly get “straight to the nub of the problem”.

Interim Managers are hands on heavyweights who have a huge amount of experience and objectivity from a wide range of previous experience. They are extremely objective in outlook and have the required authority and inter personal skills to deliver. Once their job is complete they move onto the next assignment. As they are only assigned to a particular piece of work they are only paid when they are engaged on that task.

An Interim Manager, unlike a consultant, takes full responsibility for implementation and results.

The roles undertaken by an Interim Manager typically extend for a period of between three months and one year.
